The first sod was turned, this week, on the site of the new Rainbow Project house in the Bentcliffe Court sheltered housing scheme. The new purpose built, modern, state of the art property will provide the focus of Leeds Jewish Welfare Board’s special 130th anniversary year, and will replace the current property on Bentcliffe Lane which is no longer practical. It will provide 24/7 care for 6 adults in a caring environment that allows people the opportunity to develop skills and upholds their right to dignity and respect. Built in conjunction with Leeds Jewish Housing Association, Bentcliffe Court will provide 6 bedrooms, communal lounge, dining room and kitchen all fitted out to comply not only with the regulatory body but also the specifications of the residents who will be involved in every aspect of designing their new home. Architects on the project are Knott & Mercer. Completion is expected towards the end of the year.
