Leeds Jewish Welfare Board, keen to press ahead with the adoption of its ‘Green Policy,’ has taken delivery of sixteen new recycling bins, courtesy of Jonathan Straight, LJWB Environmental Steering Group Member and Chief Executive of Straight Plc. The ‘Slim Jim’ containers will provide a flexible recycling system for each floor of the Marjorie & Arnold Ziff Community Centre consisting of interchangeable bodies and colour-coded lids. The different lids for paper, cans and bottles or general refuse, mean the containers can be easily identified for the correct materials. LJWB’s charity shop, ‘thewellfairshop’, is also grateful to Mr Straight for the delivery of a ‘Steelybin’ container to store clothes unsuitable for re-sale before they are taken for recycling. Pictured are Jonathan Straight and Rosalind Connell demonstrating use of the bins at the Marjorie & Arnold Ziff Community Centre.
